In year 1948 the Group Chairman Mr. D.P. Garg started the company’s journey into the world of hardware trade as a trading company in Delhi, with his vision, dedication, commitment, business ethics and in-depth knowledge of products. The company continued its steady growth into a big distribution house with big list of satisfied customers across length and breadth of the country.

In year 1972 Mr. D. P. Garg was joined by his dynamic and enterprising son Mr. S. M. Garg who like his father inherited the same traits and his wish for technical innovation continued the company’s growth in 70’s. In 78-79 the company sales reached a point where it became necessary for the company to set up its own production facility. A task that Mr. D. P. Garg entrusted to Mr. S. M. Garg. In year 1980 the first of group manufacturing facility was established and come into production. Thus opening new horizons for company’s future growth.

D. P. GARG & CO. exports to over 24 quality conscious countries such as U.K., Canada, France, Australia, Ireland, South Africa etc.

Achievements :

• In 1948 Mr. D. P. Garg starts trading company with continues steady growth.
• In 1972 his son Mr. S. M. Garg joins the company.
• In 1980 D. P. Garg & Co. starts manufacturing door fittings.
• In 1983 D.P. Garg & Co. gets its first “ISI license” in mild steel hinges.
• In 1989 the company starts Export to European market.
• In 1992 the company starts SS hinge production and gets first “ISI License” in India for SS Hinges.
• In 1994 Mr. S. M. Garg is appointed as a member of the ISI advisory committee.
• In 1997 D.P. Garg & Company is certified for BIS certification for Butt Hinges IS:1341-1992 and Parliament Hinges IS:362-1991
• In 1998 D. P. Garg & Company gets “ISO 9001:2000” certification.
• In 1998 D. P. Garg & Company becomes a government recognized Export House.
• In 1999 the company received National Export Award in Builder’s Hardware from the then Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Sh. Atal Bihari Vajpayee
• In 1999 the company achieved class 8 and class 9 certification for Ball Bearing Hinges.
• In 2000 D. P. Garg & Company became the first ever manufacturer to introduce Electrophoretic Lacquer Coating Technology for Hinges in India.
• In 2001 the company achieved class 4 and class 5 certification for premium hinges.
• In 2004 CE-13 certification is awarded to D.P. Garg & Co for SS Ball Bearing Hinges, first in India.
• In 2009 the company started commercial production of locks and export to the European market.
• In 2010 started lever handle manufacturing & export.
• In 2011 the company upgraded its facility, system & achieved both ISO14001 & ISO 18001.
• The company also adds to its CE range of hinges getting two more CE licenses CE7 & CE11.
• In 2017 CE certification is awarded to D.P. Garg & Co. for 3 Lever, 5 Lever & Euro Cylinder Mortise Locks range.
